INDIT participates in the annual conference of the Military Academy “Georgi S. Rakovski”

This year, INDITH participated as a representative of ethical hackers in the annual conference of Military Academy “Georgi Stoykov Rakovski” – “Sustainability in Southeast Europe’ !!

On behalf of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Bulgaria, Deputy Minister, Lieutenant General (retd) Atanas Zapryanov delivered a welcome address. He defined the topic of the forum as very relevant, in view of the changed security environment in Europe and the world, from which Bulgaria cannot remain isolated. This is also one of the reasons for the currently ongoing periodic Strategic Review of Defense Policy. Analyzing the situation in the region, including in the Middle East, the Deputy Minister also outlined the threat of increasing emigrant pressure. Such forums are necessary, he said, so that the academic community can also be heard. In the scientific session, a presentation was made by INDITT’s colleague and friend, Michael John.

Over 20 researchers presented at the Scientific Conference, some with two reports. Participants included habilitated and non-habilitated lecturers from the Academy, doctoral students and guests from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, New Bulgarian University and Burgas Free University, as well as experts from the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The scientific reports were divided into an introductory and three scientific sessions. In the opening session, reports were made by Major General Todor Dochev – Chief of the Bulgarian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Ber Seguin – Director of the George Marshall European Center for Security Studies and Vladimir Bronfenbrenner – Secretary General of the Black Sea Security Academy. During each scientific session, numerous questions were asked and in-depth discussions were held.

The round table was attended by Colonel Associate Professor Dr. Petar Marinov, Professor Dr. Vladimir Chukov, Professor Dr. Klara Stamatova and representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.
